Mission
CLiC is a woman-based collaborative organization which fosters the growth of female performers, with a focus on comedy. We support women working in the field of comedy and inspire the next generation of female performers. Through community outreach, mentoring programs, and open forums we encourage and create opportunities for women of all backgrounds, cultures, and experience levels. By cultivating interest and igniting passion in this field, we are a driving force to change the face of comedy.
General Info
The Chicago Ladies in Comedy (CLiC) Board of Directors is made up of Rebecca Grossman, the co-founder of our predecessor group, Chicago Women’s Improv Forum (C-WiF). In an effort to broaden the scope of the organization’s support for women in Comedy, Rebecca joined forces with Sommer Austin and Marissa Flaxbart. Shortly thereafter, Arianna Wheat joined on as our volunteer coordinator. More recently, Stacy Charnay has brought on to round out our planning and management efforts. CLiC is officially recognized as a not-for-profit corporation formed in the state of Illinois, and as our 501(c)3 status is recognized by the federal government. Yay!
